The locality lends to a wide variety of activities such as hillwalking, swimming, fishing, boating, kayaking, diving, surfing, with the famous Fermoyle beach a few minutes drive. Cloghane is a four minute drive and Brandon a ten mimute drive. The area is steeped in history with many breathtaking walking routes.
